The symptoms of autism spectrum disorders can range from mild to severe. Mild forms, such as Asperger's syndrome, may have mild or moderate symptoms and delays, but children usually have language skills and normal intelligence. Severe forms, such as childhood disintegrative disorder, may include symptoms such as lack of bladder and bowel control and very poor social skills.
