    Dr. Mehmet Oz answered:
Alternative treatments for athlete's foot have been used in many cultures, and research has shown that some are as effective as over-the-counter creams and ointments. For example, garlic, which has antifungal properties, can be helpful. So can moxibustion, a Chinese medical technique in which moxi sticks are lit and held near the skin; the resulting smoke and heat sometimes can get rid of athlete's foot. So can two Mexican botanicals: Ageratina pichinchensis and Solanum chrysotrichum. Always clear it with your doctor before trying any alternative treatments.
