The benefit of doing a variety of cardiovascular activities includes mental enjoyment as well as preventing the body from completely adapting to any one type of exercise (plateau). Mental enjoyment can be derived from performing a variety of different exercises and it is also one of the variables that should be considered when creating a cardio program. You&apo;re more likely to stick to an exercise program if you enjoy it. Changing your cardio program frequently will also prevent you from adapting to the same activity and thereby accomplishing less and less from the program. Your body will adapt to the stresses placed on it which creates a demand for you to make constant changes in order to continue cardiovascular performance improvement.
