Local sweeping employs two hand motions, a dog paddle–type motion and a tight counterclockwise twisting motion, to provide more focused cleansing of smaller areas of your energy body. When you perform local sweeping on yourself with the counterclockwise twisting motion, your orientation for determining counterclockwise is always from outside your body looking back at it. If you ever get confused, simply imagine - or even place - a clock facing outward on the body part on which you’re working and follow the hands of the clock. When you perform local sweeping on a visualization of yourself, as you will later on, the same rule applies. Imagine a clock on the part of the visualization on which you are working, and follow the hands of the clock.
