Penis Disorders

Some penile disorders affect the function of your penis. Priapism is a prolonged erection that can be caused by reaction to medications or drugs and alcohol. Peyronies disease is the development of a lump or hardened growth on the penis that leads to scar tissue and can eventually cause a permanent deformity to your penis. Other disorders cause inflammation to the penis due to infection. Balanitis is the swelling and irritation of the head of your penis. Phimosis and paraphimosis are caused by inflammation of the foreskin, resulting in the skin not retracting over the penis shaft or not extending over the head of the penis.
