Different menstrual problems call for different measures. Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly recommended to ease menstrual cramps and other pain, and a heating pad on your abdomen can also help. Adequate sleep and exercise may also relieve symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and depression.
Some women with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) may find it helps to watch what they eat and drink. Small meals with less salt may ease bloating, for example.
