Largely because of their age, they are less likely to develop blood clots which often contribute to strokes. The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) recommends that people with lone A-fib receive treatment with aspirin to further reduce their risk of stroke. If you have lone A-fib, talk to your doctor about reducing your risk of stroke with aspirin or other blood thinner.
