Can I get elevated liver enzymes with hypothyroidism?

answer
Liver Enzymes can get affected if left untreated and hypothyroidism can continue to harm the liver. A TSH level of 4.0 is still within normal limits for most patients. If TSH levels are above 4.5 and have signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism, the dose of thyroid replacement medication may need to be increased.

answer
Hypothyroidism leads to elevated liver enzymes only very rarely. Elevated liver enzymes are much more commonly the result of hyperthyroidism, or an overactive thyroid. Even in the case of hyperthyroidism, elevated liver enzymes occur only in the minority of cases. Restoring thyroid function to normal usually corrects the liver enzyme problem.
