Offseason fruits and vegetables can be quite expensive, Frozen fruits and vegetables with nothing added maintain their nutritional value and provide a great way to get nutrients offseason. My favorite frozen food is the food I make myself to have healthy food available to take on my long calls to the hospital. Cooking extra at meals can allow you to make your own frozen dinners to go and give you healthy options when time is short. Baked goods freeze well and can be frozen in individual portion sizes so you can take healthy brownies, cookies, muffins and cakes to work as well. This is a great tip to avoid the unhealthy snacks that appear at work. If you don’t have time to make your own dinners or snacks you can also find more healthy options in the frozen food section than ever. That said, you must learn to read the labels and make sure these foods don’t include the felons of sugars, fats , bleached and enriched flours and also beware of the sodium content.
