If you leave your job, you will likely leave your health plan along with any unused health reimbursement account (HRA) dollars. The employer cannot cash out or distribute the unused HRA dollars to you.
However, you may have a right to continue coverage under the plan and/or the HRA under COBRA. You will need to refer to your employer’s plan information for the specific COBRA or state rules that apply to the employer’s plan.
