No. The lifetime limit rules do not apply to:
- limited scope vision and dental plans;
- retiree plans that have fewer than two active employees.
The lifetime limits provision also does not apply to a health reimbursement account (HRA) that is integrated with a group health plan.
These benefits are generally known as excepted benefits under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
