answer
Tell your doctor immediately if, while receiving sodium nitrite, you experience an allergic reaction, such as hives, skin rash, swelling of the face, tongue, throat or have difficulty breathing.

Also, tell your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following severe side effects: elevated heartbeat; fainting; cold or clammy skin; a bluish color in the fingernails, lips or skin; severe vomiting. Sodium nitrite treatment may also cause milder side effects that do not require immediate medical attention, such as headaches or dizziness, nausea or upset stomach, restlessness or flushing of the face.

Let your doctor know if any of these milder side effects persist or worsen. Also, tell your doctor if you experience any side effects that are unusual or not mentioned on this list.
