Is fibromyalgia a terminal illness?

    Fibromyalgia is not considered a terminal illness.  However, there is a higher incidence of FM with disorders associated with aging, such as arthritic  and autoimmune disorders. Because of this it is possible that FM symptoms may worsen over time. Newer research suggests that there is also a dysautonomia associated with FM for this reasonconditions that co-occur with fibromyalgia can interfere.  We know myofascial pain syndrome is also associated with many of the overlapping conditions of FM, when left untreated symptoms do not improve.

    No. It affects quality of life more than longevity.
