Whether or not you can drive yourself home after being treated for a broken tooth depends on the type of treatment you received. If the doctor did a cosmetic repair to the tooth, or even a root canal, you should be fine to drive and resume most normal activities. In the case of an extraction, it is helpful to have a friend or family member on hand to drive you home. In most cases, local anesthesia will be given via injection at the site. If there are special medical conditions, general anesthesia might be used, in which case you should definitely make prior arrangements to have someone else drive you home.
