Stacy Wiegman, PharmD, Pharmacy, answeredSystemic fluoride is not known to interact negatively with any other medications. If your drinking water has high levels of fluoride (over 0.7 parts per million), it may increase the negative effects of inadvertently swallowing topical fluoride over a long period of time, namely dental fluorosis (spots or cracks in the teeth). Avoid taking systemic fluoride with dairy foods. These may make the fluoride hard to absorb.
