When you go to an emergency room, you believe you have something very wrong with your body. As you know, we are all very complicated our physical and mental make up is intricate and requires balance. According to your 'complaint' the medical caregivers will exam, test and most importantly talk to you about what is your normal, what has changed, and what is your medical past history including what is your inherited history- what 'runs' in your family. After speaking with you the nurses & doctors, begin to ‘suspect’ –develop a differential diagnosis as to what could be causing the ‘complaint’. An example- ‘stomach pain’ can be something relatively mild like 'heartburn', or a viral illness, food toxicity, but it could be appendicitis, ruptured ovarian cyst. Get the idea? AS necessary and to be sure they may uses medications, blood tests, imaging studies (X-rays, scans, ultrasounds) and perhaps consultation with specialists to arrive at the most likely/definite diagnosis. Then specific treatment for your 'compliant' can begin!
