Stacy Wiegman, PharmD, Pharmacy, answeredIf you're taking the birth control pill Azurette (desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol and ethinyl estradiol), spotting (breakthrough bleeding) between periods is probably not a cause for concern. Spotting is most common during the first few cycles on this pill. If you're taking Azurette every day as directed, you're protected from pregnancy even if you're spotting. If the spotting continues for more than a few days, worsens or concerns you, talk to your doctor about it.
