answer
Depending on how the lesion is removed from the face, a scar may or may not occur. Shaving a lesion at the base normally does not leave a noticeable scar. However, full thickness excision of the lesion will lead to a scar. How obvious the scar will end up depends on many factors including: sunlight exposure, surgical closure technique, scar management with creams (vitamin E, silicone gel spray), and specific anatomical location on the face (animation areas may increase scarring by movement).
