Don't worry. Baths will not spread the rash you have from chickenpox from one part of the body to another. Actually, baths are encouraged for people with chickenpox because they can help relieve itching. It is far better to take a cool water bath to help the itch than to scratch at it.

Chicken Pox

Chickenpox is a contagious viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes shingles. Commonly affecting children and teens, symptoms of chickenpox include a blistering, itchy rash first appearing on the abdomen, back or face, body aches, fever and in some cases, stomach pain. To treat and manage the symptoms of chickenpox, avoid aggravating the rash, use calamine lotion or dried oatmeal to calm the itching, rest, stick to bland foods and use over-the-counter pain relievers or antihistamines.
