Why do I see shimmering around lights after cataract surgery?

The implanted plastic lens in your eye is very thin, and it does at times "shimmer" slightly with eye movement and that may be producing the image you are noticing around lights.  Just try to ignore it and concentrate on the clear vision you have since your cataract surgery.
