After a breast biopsy or any surgery you should call your doctor with signs of infection or increased pain. The cardinal signs of infection include: redness, swelling, fever, and increased pain. Purulence from the incision or wound should require immediate attention to prevent systemic manifestation. Call your surgeon or doctor with any temperature greater than 101.5 degrees. Bleeding from the incision and possible hematoma is also an indication to speak to your surgeon.
