Eric Olsen, Fitness, answeredThe health benefits of physical activity climb steadily with increasing activity from sedentary to burning about 2,000 to 2,500 calories a week in such things as brisk walking or jogging. This is the amount of energy you might burn walking or jogging 20 to 25 miles. Beyond this point the benefits appear to level out; more activity doesn't seem to confer significant additional health benefits, although more activity will provide improved fitness and many emotional and cognitive benefits.
