Stacy Wiegman, PharmD, Pharmacy, answeredBecause of an increased risk of death, Seroquel (quetiapine) should not be taken by elderly patients who have dementia-related psychotic symptoms. Seroquel is not approved for use by children under 10 years of age. Pregnant women should consult their doctors and take Seroquel only if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks to the developing baby. Seroquel should not be taken while breastfeeding. Seroquel may interact with other medications in the body, so tell your doctor about any other drugs you're taking.
