Pediatric Associates

Our Mission

Pediatric Associates is one of the oldest and most respected pediatric practices in the United States. Founded in 1955, Pediatric Associates opened its first office in Hollywood, Florida. Since then, our physicians have cared for three generations of families with our first patients now bringing their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to our practice.

Pediatric Associates is considered one of the most visionary pediatric practices in the country. The company was one of the first medical groups to introduce satellite office locations staffed by multiple physicians. We were also one of the first pediatric groups to embrace managed care in the 1970s, collaborating with insurance plans as healthcare partners with the common interest of providing South Florida's children with the best healthcare available.

Keeping abreast of medical advances and changing lifestyles, our modern facilities offer families comprehensive services, including a dispensary, X-rays and state certified laboratories. To better accommodate our working parents, we also offer extended office hours in the evening and on weekends.

Currently, our more than 21 neighborhood locations are staffed by more than 130 providers who proudly serve families throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.

Pediatric Associates will continue to bring the best possible healthcare service to its patients well into the 21st Century. Ease of access, prompt courteous service and responsiveness to our patients' concerns will always be our primary goal. We realize that patients are the reason we exist and we strive to treat them professionally with compassion, respect and dignity.

    What is ankyloglossia?

Ankyloglossia is also called a tongue-tie. This occurs when the lower frenulum which attaches the middle tongue to the bottom of the mouth is too short, too thick or too tight. Because of this, the tongue does not move as freely as it could. Sometimes this does not cause any problems at all. Other

    When does pregnancy begin?

When a pregnancy begins is actually somewhat complicated. Many people think that the pregnancy starts when a sperm fertilizes and egg. This is hard to argue, but doctors tend to say that pregnancy begins when the fertilized egg implants in the wall of the uterus. It really depends on whether you

    Does teething cause a fever?

Teething should not cause a fever. However, since your baby is more irritable, they may become flushed in the face and "feel warm". If you think they have a fever, take the temperature. If it is higher than 100.4, it is considered a fever and is not likely to be caused by the teething.

    Why is teething painful?

Teething is painful because the tooth has to push through the skin in order to come out. Even though we chew with our teeth, teeth really are not very sharp. In addition, the process can take a while.

Try giving your child something cold to chew on. If symptoms are too bad, you can even give a dose

How do I maintain healthy gums?

In order to maintain healthy gums, you use the same guidelines as you would for maintaining healthy teeth.
