NORMAL nonprofit

Our Mission

NORMAL is a national nonprofit that educates about eating disorders, self-esteem and body image through arts and mindfulness programs.

We specialize in providing high quality arts and mindfulness educational programming (films, curricula and live events) for the eating disorders, nutrition, mental health, self-esteem and body image communities as well as in schools and universities and graduate school programs worldwide.

We believe it is important to educate in diverse communities as issues of eating disorders, self-esteem and mental health affect children from all backgrounds. In addition, we feel it is crucial to empower youth with healthy nutrition, healthy coping and wellness programs to enhance their stress management and self-care skills.
NORMAL prides itself in collaborating with those listed below to safely create our array of programs that educate about eating disorders, body image, self-esteem and wellness through arts and mindfulness:
-the leading nonprofit organizations in eating disorders, mental health and education
-the top researchers in psychology, nutrition and mindfulness
-award-winning film makers, producers, artists and leaders in entertainment
-nationally recognized educators

Since inception in 2006, NORMAL nonprofit's array of programs have been presented in multi-ethnic communities; including middle schools, high schools, universities, medical, educational and arts festivals worldwide and have reached at least 67,000 individuals worldwide. Of those, a minimum of 1,200 individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds have sought treatment (spoken to a clinician, entered therapy or entered a full treatment program). All of our programs, films and events have been graciously produced by (or in collaboration with) whitelephant productions in New York City.
