Dr. Ajay Sahajpal, MD

A dual board certified, Multiorgan transplant, Hepatobiliary surgery and GI Surgical Oncologist,  Ajay K. Sahajpal, MD, specializes in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation. He also has extensive experience in treating cancers of the liver and bile ducts like hepatobiliary cancer, metastatic neuroendocrine cancers, vascular tumors, sarcoma, cholangiocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. Surgeries for these types of cancer require advanced training and expertise along with an excellent surgical team and the support of a major medical center. Dr. Sahajpal's fellowship training provides him the experience to surgically treat patients with these types of cancer, who may have limited treatment options available to them including Ex vivo liver resections and major vascular reconstructions for tumor removal. He also works with fellow surgeons, interventional radiologists, hepatologists, and medical and radiation oncologists to create a specialized treatment plan for each patient.
